We make it easy for parents to apply at any time for children aged 3 months to 18 years, Early Years to Sixth Form. Whether you're looking for the perfect start or a fresh chapter, we warmly welcome new families to join the Sherfield community.

At Sherfield, we offer full, weekly, and flexi boarding options for students aged 9 to 18, making it easy for every pupil to find a home away from home.

Whether staying all week or just a few nights, our boarding provides a warm, supportive environment where students can feel settled, comfortable, and part of the Sherfield family. Archer's Lodge, our purpose-built boarding house for Year 5 and up, offers 60 hotel-style en-suite rooms, including internet access, study areas, cosy beds, and spacious bathrooms. Each floor also features generous common rooms with living, dining, and kitchen facilities, plus comfortable seating, digital TV, board games, and books—providing all the comforts of home.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS

The admissions process at Sherfield School begins with a bespoke tour and a meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership Team or attendance at one of our open days. Video calls with are also available.

Once a decision has been made, the Admissions Team will provide a registration form. Registered students are invited to 'taster' sessions, ranging from a few hours to a full day, with overnight stays for prospective boarders. Successful applicants will receive an offer of a place. After securing a place, families are kept informed and invited to events, helping them integrate into the Sherfield School community.

Co-Educational Boarding

Sherfield School is highly recognised for educating and caring for children from Armed Forces families. We understand the unique needs and inevitable upheaval military families face. Our emphasis on pastoral care and providing stability and security for each child ensures they thrive and get the most out of boarding life at Sherfield.

We offer financial support to military families in receipt of Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) and, as a boarding school, we are listed in the Accredited School Database administered by the Child Education Advisory Service (CEAS). Many of our students come from forces families and offer invaluable support to each other. Our pastoral staff fully understand what is required of serving personnel and are available to offer additional support when needed.
